About the App
Avrdude (for programming AVR microcontrollers) GCC (to compile C code) Jump to the instructions for your Operating System: Ubuntu; Mac OS; Windows; Ubuntu Software Install Get and install avrdude / GCC software and dependencies: Open Terminal and type: sudo apt-get install flex byacc bison gcc libusb-dev avrdude Then type: sudo apt-get install gcc-avr. For Mac's, there are no parallel ports. However, if you're using a USB-serial adapter (which lets you use an STK500 or AVRISP v1 with a Mac) then you'll need to specify the serial port.
Use the specified config file for configuration data. This file contains all programmer and part definitions that AVRDUDE knows about. If you have a programmer or part that AVRDUDE does not know about, you can add it to the config file (be sure and submit a patch back to the author so that it can be incorporated for the next version). To program AVRs in Mac OS X, you will need the free avr-gcc compiler, avr-libc, AVRDUDE, and other associated tools. Download the CrossPack for AVR Development, which is packaged as a.dmg file. Open the.dmg file, and double-click on CrossPack-AVR.pkg.
